To deliver you from the strange woman,

From the foreign woman who flatters with her words;

Who forsakes the close companion of her youth

And forgets the covenant of her God;

For her house sinks down to death

And her tracks descend to the dead;

All who go to her will not return,

And they will not reach the paths of life.

So that you will walk in the way of good men

And keep to the paths of the righteous.

Proverbs 2:16-20

This section builds on the earlier conversation where Solomon advises his son to be cautious of people who act in harmful and dishonest ways. The main point is to inspire him to choose

wisdom and use knowledge in a way that honors and respects God. The example of sexual

temptation represents a deeper idea about compromising one's faith. Solomon uses the image of an immoral woman to show that straying from God's path is like a form of paganism, which can lead to serious spiritual consequences.
